What is rock painting?
Rock painting is a way for anyone to take simple materials and spread positivity in a community by leaving rocks with positive messages where someone can find and enjoy it.
Why paint rocks?
These simple messages of hope, love, and compassion can spark joy and brighten someone’s day. Also, the act of painting and giving to others can help us personally feel happiness.
First find your rock. Second clean your rock. Third its time to paint your rock. Fourth you will seal your rock. Five, and most importantly spread kindness.
At Project 99, we will be promoting a Suicide Prevention Rocks campaign throughout 2021. You can use your own materials, or contact us and we will deliver a rock painting kit to anyone in our community that would like to take part in this event. We have three main events where we will be using the rocks to spread positive messages.

Suicide Prevention Rocks Garden
We are working to fill our community with positive message rock gardens. If you would like to paint rocks to fill rock gardens for others or if you would like to have your own rock garden, please contact us.
Every year, as part of our Lights for Life 5K event, we have teens in our community paint rocks that are gifted to race participants. Runners are then encouraged to leave their rock as they run or to give their rock to someone they feel could use the positive message.
