Every year since its inception, Project 99 has hosted the Lights for Life 5K to bring awareness about suicide and mental health to our community and to bring students, staff and community together to help bring these critical issues out of the dark. Like everyone else, Project 99 has been impacted by Covid 19. Typically in the fall, we speak to large groups of 9th graders, but this cannot be safely done at this time. We have had to find unique and creative ways to carry out our suicide prevention mission. One way is to continue to hold our Lights for Life 5K, but to do so virtually.
We have lowered our already low prices to ensure as many can participate, and we are hoping participants will put together small, safe teams to run/walk the 3.1 miles and post their individual event on social media and share pictures with us so that together, we can continue to bring suicide and mental health awareness out of the dark. Not only will you be helping us achieve our mission, you will be doing your own physical and mental health some good by participating and getting outside, walking or running outdoors—exercising and supporting a worthy cause at the same time!

Finally, we are seeking designs from K-12 students for our race t-shirts. If you would like to submit a race design for our t-shirt design contest, please email your design to project99org@gmail.com by November 13. For contest details, see the flier by clicking HERE.
